Truthfully, the potential for kind deeds is immeasurable. Anything one does for his fellow man, even offering a single kind word, is part of the kindness that builds the world.Samsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17309957734651376753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2377931444066769679.post-69564381629426990592019-07-26T13:27:00.001+03:002019-07-26T13:27:58.874+03:00Israel trust G-d only and NOT America! The assimilation and gentilization of our leaders have caused them not only to leave the paths of Jewishness, but to disastrously place their faith and the future of the nation on the US. And worst of all, to betray Jews in their folly.

We once trusted in France and she betrayed us and we trust today in America and she will betray us, because in the end her self-interest will lie not with us but with our enemies and oil will become more precious than friendship with a small, poor state.

We, the people who survived a hellish Exile of two millennia only because of our deep and unshaken faith in G-d, now forget Him, ignore Him, term Him irrelevant.

Those who do not believe that it was He and only He who brought Israel into being, do not believe also that He and He alone will sustain it.

The words of the Psalmist, "Trust not in princes, in the son of man in whom there is no salvation", are not for them, and they will suffer for it.

Loving G-d is a more exalted stage, as our sages said, (Sotah 31a), "One motivated by love for G-d is greater than one motivated by fear."

Fear ensures man's separating himself from evil, making it infinitely easier for him later on to attain reward.

As King David said, "Turn away from evil and do good" (Psalms 34:15). Fear of G-d distances man from evil, whereas love of G-d ensures that he will do good, out of desire and craving for G-d and His commandments.Samsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17309957734651376753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2377931444066769679.post-28240988634175992332019-07-22T10:22:00.000+03:002019-07-25T07:51:52.569+03:00Jews and ViolenceThe Jewish Establishment's concepts of violence and nonviolence are too often derived not from Jewish sources but from assimilated liberal ones.

Too many of our lay and also, incredibly, "religious" leaders derive their knowledge and concepts from foreign, not Jewish, sources.

Our rabbis have told us that "the actions of the fathers are a sign (direction) for the sons", and it behooves us to search Jewish history and Jewish tradition for the proper Jewish response to evil and oppression.

What a Jew must and must not do for other Jews who are suffering is predicated upon the great idea of Ahavat Israel, love of Jews.

This magnificent concept is stated simply, forcefully, and unequivocally in the Torah (Leviticus, 19:16):
"Thou shalt not stand idly by your brother's blood."

The talmudic commentary on this verse is quite as clear (Sanhedrin 73):
"How do we know that one who sees his comrade drowning in the sea or threatened by a wild beast or by armed robbers is obligated to save him?

"We are taught: Thou shalt not stand idly by your brother's blood.

"How do we know that if one sees someone pursuing his comrade with the purpose of killing him, that he is free to save a life through killing the pursuer?

We are taught: "Thou shalt not stand idly by.....".

What we have inherited as Torah Halakha is hardly a theorical thing. From the days that our father Abraham went to battle against the four Kings in order to save his nephew Lot to the moment that Moses smote an Egyptian rather than create a committee to study the root causes of Egyptian anti-Semitism; from the wars of Joshua and the Prophets (Ehud, Déborah, Gideon, Samson, Yiftach) to the battles of David; from the Maccabees to the students of Rabbi Akiba who were sent from their studies to fight with Bar Kochba's army---Jewish leadership has taken an active and violent part in the struggle for freedom.

The concept of Hadar, a concept which the great Jewish leader Zev Jabotinsky attempted to instill in the oppressed and degraded masses of Eastern Europe, is still a principle that we carry within us at all times.

The hatred and contempt of the anti-Semite is an attempt to degrade the Jew. It is an attempt to instill within him a feeling of inferiority.

It is an attempt which all too often succeeds in promoting Jewish self-hatred and shame and the attempt to escape one's Jewishness.

Hadar is pride. Hadar is self-respect. Hadar is dignity in being a Jew.

The words of Jabotinsky echo in majesty:

"Hadar! A Jew, even in poverty remains a prince.
Wether servant or serf you were created the son of Kings,
Crowned with the diadem of David;
In light or in darkness, remember the crown...
Return to your people and their destiny. It is beautiful. You are young and for you, return is simple.

And know that your life can only be lived in one place. Home. The Land of Israel.

It is a large land. Extending from the Mediterranean to the Jordan, from Hermon through Sinai to Eilat.

It stands, capable of absorbing millions, many millions of its sons and daughters who have not yet come.

It is the land where one cannot move without colliding with the Jewish past.

This is the land where Abraham walked and Isaac and Jacob traveled; where David and Saul fought the enemy and Deborah and Samson smote the foe; where the Prophets raised their eyes unto the heavens and spoke to the people; where the Maccabees preserved Judaism with the sword and where the Sanhedrin and Ben Zakai continued it with the book; where Bar Kochba died and where his children will return.
The Jews of old--when Jews were knowledgeable about their religion, when they turned the page of the Jewish Bible instead of turning the Christian cheek--understood the concept of the Book and the Sword.
It was only in the horror of the ghetto with its fears, neuroses, and insecurities that the Jew began to react in fright rather than with self-respect.
If you, the Christian, really believe in the Bible, in the prophecies that are written therein,
that speak of the return of the Jewish people to Zion before the final Redemption, of the creation of the Jewish home before the coming of the Messiah, if you really believe this and you know that G-d is the only ultimate interest that you and your country have, then you will stand by the side of Israel and demand that your government and nation do the same, lest, on the Day of Judgment, when G-d counts those who believed and stood by His people's side and His prophecies, you will be found wanting.

It is not Israel that needs the United States but the American people and the American nation that will survive or fall depending upon their attitude toward the Jewish State.Samsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17309957734651376753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2377931444066769679.post-75155522982791978362019-07-10T09:16:00.001+03:002019-07-10T09:36:12.441+03:00No to the Trump "deal" of the Century! Each retreat will leave behind it a depressing knowledge of impending disaster, a feeling of defeat and coming tragedy.

Sanity requires us to say no now, not later when we look upon us and see that our backs have been pushed to the sea.

It demands that we say no now because every yes today insures a further demand tomorrow, and an inevitable day when NO! will be shouted by everyone of us---and it will be too late.

We are not fools. If we cannot say no because of our need for allies, weapons, and aid, because allies will stop helping us, we will not be able to say no when they demand a return to the 1967 borders-as they surely will-or when they demand a change in the status of Jerusalem-as they surely will also.

Then, according to the forecast of the timid ones, they will stop their aid, weapons, and support-and what will we do?

If our yes today is only to gain time, then know that time is running out and the day of reckoning will come.

For those who say we cannot say no, the choice is clear:
Leave for Canada today. There is no other way.

But there IS another way-the way of no to concessions now, and if stated with faith and trust in G-d, this will certainly not lead to disaster.

It is not enough to be a comfortably practicing Jew.

Too many "atheists" practice a superficial religious observance, yet join the irreligious in crumbling before the fear of man.

We know the Jew who believes in G-d until the war sends him flying back to the Exile.

The Jew who prays for Zion from a safe distance of 5000 miles.

Under all their prayer shawls is a body that denies the Jewish G-d of History.
That would have been the path of rationality, and the end of the Jew. Our fathers were "madmen", and because of them we survive. That is the truth of the Jewish belief.Samsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17309957734651376753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2377931444066769679.post-22495554626302538442019-07-04T08:33:00.000+03:002019-07-04T08:33:10.331+03:00Masada, Jewish heroismThis post is in memory of the heroic 960 Jewish fighters and their leader Eleazar Ben Yair who fought and fell in Masada in order to remain free Jews.

"The L-ord G-d is a sun (shemesh) and a shield. Samson, (Shimshon) is like a name of G-d. Just as G-d guards over the whole world (via the sun), so did Samson guard over Israel in his generation.

So great was he that Jacob thought that Samson would be the Messiah (bereshit rabbah 98:14): "Jacob saw Samson and thought he was the Messiah. After he died Jacob said, "This one is dead too! I hope for your deliverance O L-ord!"

This tsadik took zealous revenge for the Jewish people all his life until the day he died. (Jud.16:28)

"O L-ord G-d, remember me and strengthen me, I pray to You, just this once, O G-d, that I may be this once avenged of the Philistines for one of my two eyes."

We can say that he sought revenge for only one of his two eyes which the Philistines knocked out, because he knew what they did was partly punishment for his deeds.

Above all else, he should accept upon himself the yoke of Heaven. The incontestable sovereignty, majesty and authority of G-d, Supreme King of Kings.

Relating to G-d as King and Master, he should cling to all of G-d's true and trustworthy, irrevocable ways and commandments, neither devinating from them nor questioning them.

Twice each day in the Shema, Israel lovingly recites, "Those words which I command you today shall be on your heart."

This clearly admonishes us to keep "those words", G-d commandments, above our hearts, superseding our own wishes, in line with "Transform G-d's will into your own" (Avot 2:4).

This is our supreme commandment, the foundation of the Torah edifice. It is the beginning of Man's redemption from bestiality and of the breaking down of his egotism, the root of evil in the world.

This process constitutes the beginning of man's ascent to holiness, which is his purpose.

Man's subjugating his ego beneath G-d's yoke and his readiness to cling to G-d and pay absolute obeisance to His sovereign authority are prerequisites to his attaining the complete holiness emanating from G-d.Samsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17309957734651376753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2377931444066769679.post-62181056154592278242019-07-01T12:49:00.001+03:002019-07-01T12:49:17.991+03:00Revenge in JudaismLove has its place. As does hate. Peace has its place, as does war. Mercy has its place, as do cruelty and revenge.

The Torah dons sackcloth over the distortion of the concept of revenge, which has become a target for the arrows of all Jewish Hellenists and worshipers of the alien culture, as if revenge was negative and evil by nature.

The very opposite is true! No trait is more justified than revenge in the right time and place. G-d himself is called Nokem, Avenger:

"The Lord is a zealous and avenging G-d. The L-rd avenges and is full of wrath. He takes revenge on His adversaries and reserves wrath for His enemies." (Nachum 1:2).

Our sages also said (Berachot 33a) "Shall we say that even revenge is great because it appears between two names of G-d? A G-d of revenge is the L-rd (Ps.94:1).

R Elazar responded, "Indeed. Where revenge is necessary, it is a great thing".(see Rashi).

It is a great thing! It is a great mitsva to take the revenge of the righteous and humble from the evildoer. Whoever forgoes or rejects such an opportunity is cruel, and he denies belief in G-d.

As King David said (Ps. 58:11-12):
"The tsadik shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance. He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. Men shall say, "Verily there is a reward for the tsadik. Verily there is a G-d who judges on Earth."
We find this with Samson.

After "he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter"(judges15:8), the base men of Yehuda came to hand him over
to the Philistines, claiming fearfully "Are you unaware that the Philistines are rulers over us? What have you done to us?"

SAMSON replied "As they did to me, so I did to them."

SAMSON was crowned with the title of Tsadik. As Abaye said (Sotah 9b), "Delilah knew that that tsadik would never utter G-d's name in vain."Samsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17309957734651376753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2377931444066769679.post-1028017869439364422019-06-28T14:29:00.001+03:002019-06-30T13:14:07.892+03:00The Nations Punishment for their Persecution of the Jews (2)Our sages said (Tanchuma, Tazria, 11):

"In the World to Come, G-d will sit in judgment over the kingdom of Edom and ask them: "Why did you subjugate my children?"

and they will respond,
"Was it not You who delivered them into our hands?"

G-d will then say, "I delivered them into your hands but you showed them no mercy. Upon the aged have you heavily laid your stroke. (Isaiah 47:6)."Samsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17309957734651376753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2377931444066769679.post-56383394988470646002019-06-27T10:54:00.001+03:002019-06-30T13:13:04.279+03:00The Nations Punishment for their Persecution of the Jews (1)The gentiles punishment for their subjugating and persecuting Israel is G-d's greatest revenge, since the lowliness of Israel is a Hillul Hashem.
We can, thus, also understand the nullification of the oath which G-d imposed on Israel not to go up to Eretz Israel en masse, because the nations violated their oath not to subjugate Israel "too much".
